New graphics flavors with more advanced image formats

ImageConveter Plus supports practically all image formats. Sometimes there is a dilemma which one to use in a particular graphic situation, and we try to help our users make the best choice. The main reason for TGA being used is that it is a very, very simple image format. A couple hundred lines of code read and write every known type of TGA. TGA format failed to become a recognized standard for true color and palette images. It's not supported by the Windows OS (as it is not supported by Internet Explorer). TGA format is pretty old and is getting less popular, so we recommend that you convert TGA to the TIFF format where possible. TIFF on the other hand is very different. It is very complex and allows more options for the output images and more exotic flavors depending on the program you use. TIFF is a flexible bitmap image format supported by virtually all paint, image-editing, and page-layout applications.
